Count Every Vote

Category: Informational, Database (Dynamic Content)

The Campaign to Re-elect US Congressman Rush Holt sponsored the development of this site. Having sponsored HR2239 (which would require that all electronic voting machines to feature an auditable paper trail) which was blocked from passage in time for the Nov 2 General Election, Congressman Holt recognized the need to communicate methods by which voters could inform themselves as to the risks of paperless e-voting.

Sunday Salon
www.SundaySalon.org

Category: Catalog/Information

Sunday Salon is a popular public affairs radio program, broadcast every Sunday morning on Pacifica Radio's KPFA.

Powered by GreyBeard's content management system, program interns easily prepare listings of upcoming shows, including links to online archives of each show.

Also built into this site is GreyBeard's photo gallery database application which allows images to be uploaded to freeform categories on demand.

The links section is also driven by a database, which makes it easy for non-technical staff to manage content.

The site is based on Greybeard’s Content Management System, and incorporates a custom online donation tool. The administrative suite of tools are quite robust.

Verified Voting

Paperless electronic voting is a threat to the democracy of the United States. The issue is that votes are stored directly to memory, there is no secondary audit trail, and votes cannot be recounted. Standards for these systems have not been established, and those agencies responsible for such standards were selected a year past when they were supposed to get started, and subsequently under-funded (or in the case of NIST, de-funded.) It gets worse: nobody but vendor staff inspects the source code! Fact: machines manufactured by 3 major vendors will soon count the majority of America's votes. Comfortable with that? I'm not!
